“Everything only exists because it has the right properties to continue as it is. The continuation of a configuration is nothing but parts of a whole that have the right conditions to maintain itself and it’s existence. Anything that does not have the capability to sustain itself will alter into another form of existence. A different configuration of parts.

The question: “What is purpose?” exist only in the forms or configurations of existence that allows them to do so. This question has manifested itself through the process of evolution. Complex configurations originate from various different and/or simpler configurations through millennia of random mutations and iterations.

Complex configurations like humans wonder this sort of thing, because this is probably one of the randomly generated mutations that apparently had no negative effect on the “maintenance” of the human species. Simply put, it is impossible to have a stable complex species without the property of preserving itself. It is not necessarily good or bad to have this trait.

It is true that only the existences that do possess this property, will continue to exist. When a complex existence breaks apart, it will break up into several lesser-complex existences. You could say that the more complex forms of existence only exist because they have been able to endure all random mutations.

The inability to tolerate these mutations leads to the disintegration into the lesser-complex existences. Lesser-complex existences is a broad and – in all probability – a subjective concept. These lesser-complex configurations are also made up of existences, and the complex existences may be part of another configuration. These kinds of questions are difficult to answer.
